Business Management for the IB Diploma syllabus (M2024) for examination from 2024:
Key changes
- The six concepts under the 2016 syllabus have been replaced by four concepts. The existing concepts of change and ethics have been retained, while culture, globalisation, innovation and strategy have been replaced by two new concepts – creativity and sustainability.
- A business management toolkit is included for the first time. This consists of the required situational, planning and decision-making tools, and is designed to be used by students to analyse and evaluate the syllabus content
- Changes to external assessment, with weightings modified. At SL both papers are completed in 90 minutes and weighted equally. At HL a specialist paper has been introduced, based on unseen stimulus material about a social enterprise. This will include the HL extension topics.
