This book aims to use IBMYP as an example, to elaborate the inquiry principles, methods and strategies behind the MYP unit design and teaching. In order to assist teachers to better understand the inquiry-based teaching and how to strategically use the inquiry approach in teaching Language Acquisition, as well as Language and Literature, this book presents rationales and key points of unit design through 8 unit cases.

Integrated theories with practice: this book sorts out 7 elements of inquiry-based teaching as well as its framework and fundamental theories. It illustrates the “why” behind unit design and the “how” in teaching with several specific inquiry-based teaching cases.

Comprehensive curriculum: the IBMYP inquiry-based teaching cases cover the curriculum of Language Acquisition (emergent, capable, proficient), as well as Language and Literature. Each level includes two sample units and two extended units.

Practical resources: this book provides detailed teaching plans in English translation (using the MYP unit planner) to assist teachers’ teaching preparation.
